Important to know

Insurance coverage does not always guarantee speech therapy benefits. Many plans cover evaluations but may require proof of medical necessity before approving ongoing treatment.

Before your first visit

We recommend contacting your insurance company to ask about speech therapy benefits, visit limits, deductibles, co-insurance, and referral or authorization requirements.

  • Coverage depends on your specific plan. Some plans list speech therapy benefits but later deny services as not medically necessary. We recommend calling your insurance company before your first appointment to ask about your child’s speech therapy benefits, coverage rules, and limitations.

  • Clients without private insurance are required to obtain a prescription from the referring physician for evaluation and treatment. Some plans may also require referrals or prior authorizations in addition to the prescription.

  • The most common procedure codes used for billing are 92523 for speech evaluation and 92507 for speech therapy treatment sessions.

  • If your plan has an unmet deductible, you may be responsible for paying the full cost of the evaluation and possibly one or more treatment sessions until the deductible is met. We recommend contacting your insurance company to understand your deductible amount and expected out-of-pocket costs

  • Our financial contract is with you, not your insurance company. We bill your insurance when applicable, but families remain responsible for deductibles, co-pays, co-insurance, and any unpaid balances for services rendered.

  • Yes. We are happy to help families understand the process, but we also encourage you to keep records of your conversations with your insurance company, including the date, time, and representative name.

Evaluation

$150

Speech-language evaluation to assess your child’s communication needs and determine recommendations for treatment.

In-Person Session

$70

30-minute speech therapy session provided in person at our clinic.

Teletherapy Session

$70

30-minute virtual speech therapy session provided through Zoom.
